Who we are

“We”, “us” and “our” mean New MedTek Devices Pty Ltd, the Australian company that makes RrhoidCath™. This policy covers this website, the surgeon portal, our contact form, and the emails we send.

What we collect

We only collect what we need for the thing you are doing.

  • Surgeon portal registration: your name, email address, role, hospital or practice, state, and phone number if you give it. Your password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, so nobody at New MedTek Devices can read it. We also record whether you agreed to receive marketing emails, and when.
  • Contact form: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, whether you are a surgeon, a patient or someone else, and your message.
  • Website use: which pages are visited and how visitors arrive, through analytics cookies. This does not identify you. Our cookie policy lists every cookie and how to turn analytics off.
  • Technical records: like any website, our hosting provider keeps short-lived logs, such as IP addresses and browser types, to keep the site secure and working.

Health information

Health information is sensitive, and we do not ask for it. Please do not send us details of your own or anyone else’s medical condition through the contact form. If you do, we will use it only to reply to you, and we will not add it to any mailing list. Questions about your treatment are best answered by your surgeon.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you, when you fill in a form or register for the portal. You can browse this website without telling us who you are. The surgeon portal is for healthcare professionals, so you need to identify yourself to register for it.

Why we use it

  • To create your surgeon portal account and let you sign in.
  • To reply to your enquiry and send it to the right person in our team.
  • To let our team know when someone registers for the portal.
  • To send you news about RrhoidCath™, but only if you asked us to.
  • To understand how the website is used and make it better.
  • To meet our legal obligations, including those that apply to a supplier of medical devices in Australia.

We do not use your information for any other purpose unless you agree, or the law requires or allows it.

Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails to people who ticked the box asking for them. You can stop them at any time, in any of three ways:

  • Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email.
  • Turn off “Email updates” after you sign in to the surgeon portal.
  • Email info@rrhoidcath.com.

We act on unsubscribe requests within five business days. Unsubscribing does not close your portal account, and you will still receive emails you need, such as password resets.

Who we share it with

We never sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run this website for us, and only so they can do that job:

  • Vercel, which hosts the website (United States).
  • Neon, which hosts our database (Sydney, Australia).
  • Resend, which delivers our emails (United States).
  • Google, which provides website analytics (United States).

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example to a regulator or court.

Information sent overseas

Some of the providers above store or process information in the United States. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles, and we take reasonable steps to make sure they do.

Keeping it safe

Information travels to and from this website encrypted. Passwords are hashed, and only the people at New MedTek Devices who need the information to do their job can see it. We keep your information for as long as your account is open or as long as we need it for the purposes above, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@rrhoidcath.com. We may need to confirm who you are first. We will reply within 30 days, and there is no charge.

Making a complaint

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email info@rrhoidcath.com and tell us what happened. We will look into it and reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our website or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
